Jordan Chariton reports from Cleveland, Ohio from a press conference held by Cleveland Lead Advocates for Safe Housing [CLASH] on the emergency lead crisis. The group is organizing a petition drive to get lead-free homes in Cleveland on the ballot in November. 92 Cleveland children were found to have high lead levels in 1 month (since January, 2019).
Status Coup was the ONLY national press at this press conference in Cleveland—I guess children drinking lead isn’t an important enough story for corporate media. Help us cover more of these important stories by becoming a Status Coup member for as low as $5-10 a month! You can also support our reporting GoFundMe to help us report in-the-field ASAP.
